I'm grateful today is my dad's birthday and he's alive and well for me to text him on his birthday and receive love and acknowledgement from me and his grandchildren 😊 it's a blessing to be in contact with my dad whom I did not get to grow up with but get to mend and heal from a broken household and choose to have a relationship now before it was too late. I'm grateful for honoring my parents as well as my step dad. But today's my father's birthday 🎈 which makes today extra special. He was so appreciative and grateful to hear from me wishing him a happy birthday 🥳 🎂
*Edit: included message from my dad. All my life he has addressed me by my middle name Desiree. His appreciation for a simple birthday shout-out meant more to him than anything* 🥹🫶🏾
