I can confidently say that the gym is a good place to approach. However, you need to be patient, strategic, and cautious. The approach needs to end on a good note, especially if itโs a rejection.
Patience is key because you need to wait for an optimal opening; donโt approach while sheโs literally getting her sets in. When sheโs waiting for a machine is ideal. Additionally, you may want to wait half an hour or approach on another day (or week, or month). She may have a boyfriend nearby or he just didnโt join her on that day. Iโve managed to evade this so far. Today was a close call, but I waited at least 20 min.
Strategic. Sheโs on the treadmill going on a slow walk. She has no earphones on and isnโt looking at her phone. Excellent opening and sheโs definitely not going anywhere ๐คฃ
Cautious. The gym is my sanctuary. If Iโm going to approach here, she needs to be worth it and I canโt be embarrassing myself with a miscalculated, poorly articulated approach. Thatโs why Iโve been pacing myself at the gym. My confidence is much better now than in April. I wanted some of my best work to be at the gym. The gym is also an intimidating place, making the approach more delicate. Lastly, you donโt want to make It akward if the date(s) donโt go well.
I donโt recommend starting at the gym until youโre fully committed. Additionally, you may not want to approach here at all if youโre cautious about things being awkward in the future. Hopefully you work out at a big gym, plenty of space to hide ๐
