Ravaging Monster
Hidden like a monster
Waiting to attack, aimlessly
Without warning, mostly
Tornado siren sounds, there
Destroying everything, warned
Too late, can’t be saved now
Happens so quickly, no time
Can’t buy time back, can’t buy more
Spent it foolishly, now regrets hover
Monster is consuming you, rapidly
No options for chemo, no radiation
Just more suffering, just decline
Live every moment because truly
Your next breath could be your last
The monster is rising, he is quite visible
Call for your soul, disappeared in spurts
Guess you’re in limbo, hanging between
Two dimensions, two worlds, life & death
Which one will win at the end of the day?
Only God above knows our expiration date
I hate this monster, have been fighting it
Twenty six long years, exhausting battle
If not me, sisters, daddy, mother, friends
You go after them all, how do we conquer
How can we destroy you? Mystery
We can talk to machines, cars need no drivers
Yet we can’t figure out how to kill you.
