Hello from Tempe Arizona!
I started paddling in 2015 in Tempe, AZ as a part of a corporate team in our local/annual AZDBA Festival in Tempe Town Lake. I grew up in Hawaii, so being near/on the water has always been a happy place for me. As I get older, trying to balance personal achievement while pouring into other people and seeing them grow has been a huge passion of mine.
I tried out for the US National Team in the 2023 Pattaya Thailand cycle and it has been my biggest thrill and personal achievement to bring home 3 WC medals including gold in the 2k with the SB crew. A huge shout out to Tek for getting the ball rolling in that endeavor by submitting my time trial video to Bob McN to get me in front of the coaches, and it was a whirlwind from there.
At the beginning of 2024, I was asked to take over the helm of the local club I have been paddling with since 2016 (AZ Gila Dragons), and have been putting most of my energy there over the past 12 months. Since coming back from Thailand, its been my dream to put together an AZ Select team and take it to CCNC in a bid to earn a berth to CCWC. I am in the birth pangs of that currently with a few other AZ club coaches, so lets see where that takes us this year!
