I asked rayyan siddiqui same question "Is it valuable learning how ai works" and he said we should focus on building on top of ai instead of worrying how underlying models work.
Same idea was conveyed by Sam Altman in his recent interview, he said: "I think the most valuable skill in future will not be building ai but using ai to do amazing things"
