What Does Healing From the Inside Actually Look Like?
We often imagine healing as becoming happier, stronger, or finally having everything figured out.
But real healing can look much quieter.
It can look like stopping yourself from saying “I’m fine” when you’re not.
It can look like resting without feeling guilty.
Saying no without spending the next three hours wondering if you upset someone.
Allowing yourself to cry instead of immediately trying to stop the tears.
Noticing where your body holds tension.
Choosing to listen to yourself instead of constantly looking outside yourself for validation.
And perhaps most importantly:
You stop treating yourself like a problem that needs to be fixed.
You start becoming curious about yourself.
“What am I actually feeling?”
“What do I need right now?”
“Why am I constantly pushing myself?”
“What have I been carrying that I never allowed myself to feel?”
Healing doesn’t mean you’ll never feel overwhelmed, lost, angry, or sad again.
It means you slowly learn how to stay present with yourself through those moments instead of abandoning yourself when things get difficult.
So today, take a few minutes.
Put your phone away.
Close your eyes.
Take a few slow breaths.
And ask yourself:
“What is my body trying to tell me that I haven’t been listening to?”
Don’t force an answer.
Just listen.
🤍 What is something you’re learning to be more gentle with yourself about?
