I want to take a moment to share something that really hit me this morning.
I was up at 4am getting my daughter ready for her 5:30am school excursion. On the way home, I felt like stopping at the 24 hour bakery to grab a hot chai and something to eat.
As I was walking up, I noticed a young woman curled up on a bench. She only had a tank top and thin jeans on and she was absolutely freezing, shaking from the cold. Itās been so cold here lately, real polar blast and snow down on the mountains.
Something in me just couldnāt walk past.
I went over and asked her if she needed anything, then went inside and grabbed an extra croissant and a large hot chocolate. We sat there together eating, and she shared a bit of her story with me⦠and honestly it broke my heart.
I didnāt have much to give, but I could feel how cold it was myself even with layers on. So I gave her my jacket and went back in to grab her a bit more food.
This isnāt a post for praise or recognitionā¦
I just want to bring awareness for a moment.
Itās so easy to feel like we donāt have enough, like weāre ābrokeā because thereās only a few dollars left after fuel, rent and food.
But there are people out there who would feel rich with that.
Today reminded me how much we actually have, even when it doesnāt feel like it.
Gratitude isnāt about having everything⦠itās about seeing whatās already there.
So Iāll ask you this.
What is something you have in your life right now that youāre truly grateful for, even if it feels small?
