gluten free/acid reflux?

I've been sugar and gluten free for approximately a month now. I was already plant based for a year, but not gluten free, so it was not too difficult. I was putting a small amount of maple syrup in some pecan/walnut cookies that I make, but no longer eat them because of the maple syrup.
Since I began the gluten free journey, I have been feeling acid reflux attack my throat. I was told in the past that I have acid reflux, but hadn't felt it. Now it's quite strong, quite often - a few times a day.
Do you have any suggestions to stop it from occurring?
