My journey so far
What's up guys! I decided I will be posting my journey here. Last time I posted I had 3 contractors lined up and that was it.
What's happened since then? Not much but I will do a quick update for people trying to get into this:
I gained around 6 or 8 cleaners ready to work for me, however, no cleaning jobs! I started marketing on Facebook. I had 9 leads within 2 or 3 days! But I was really stressed so I had 2 people (sales friends) calling them to try and close the deal (I was nervous, stressed about financials and scared to lose the deal, I wanted someone calm talking to clients). Only 1 seemed promising because I called right away. However, it fell through. So, I started joining Facebook groups, NextDoor, Bark (Cost Money but worked for me) making great offers for first time clients, etc. I gave up on the other people that were calling my clients because they didn't have the drive, therefore potential clients were losing retention. I just HAD to do it myself, no question, or it wouldn't work. It's been 2 weeks for the client hunt and I now have 3 recurring clients and 2 more potential promising clients. That's almost 5 clients within 2 weeks of searching. That was without Facebook marketing, so I can imagine the potential once I start marketing again.
Key takeaways:
  1. Don't be nervous to get on that call with the client. It might be intimidating at first, some call it imposter syndrome but after a few times it's cake!
  2. You are the only one who is going to truly make this company a success. Others are there to help but you have to make the moves.
  3. Don't rely on one method of getting clients.
  4. Do what you have to do to catch the clients attention (impassable deals, great customer service etc)
  5. Be hungry, (like if you have rent due tomorrow with $0 in your bank)
  6. Be consistent!
I know 5 clients isn't much but Im happy I got them in 2 weeks! No sure if that's a good number or not but for me it is. I hope this encourages some of you guys. Im excited to see where else this goes. I will keep updating every month or 2!
