Nervousness
On a match day, I’m usually really nervous, no matter for what age group I’m playing for. It could be for my u14 club cricket games or my u17 rep team. Before I go into bat regardless at what position I am batting at - 5,6,7, my heart is pounding, the field seems scarier and I watch every ball occur when I’m not into bat with a sweat running down my face. I don’t know why but it could due to a few reasons. 1. Worrying about the outcome (how many runs I score), 2. Worrying if anyone judges me on the way I play, 3. Worrying about playing the proper shot, 4. Worrying about the game situation, and 5. Worrying about if the bowler is really good or not. My heart mainly goes at faster heart beat, feet tending not to move, not playing the proper shot and repeating these really annoying voices in my head which makes me more anxious about the game. In the backyard, I’m batting like prime Kohli, in the nets as well, I’m batting pretty good as well, shots coming in a proper flow, but when it comes to game day, it’s another story. So, how can I remove my nerves and go back to scoring runs freely?
