Comedy sequel that tops the original?

The topic of comedy sequels not being as good as the original has come up in the calls a bit (Airplane II: The Sequel, Spinal Tap II: The End Continues), so it got me to thinking... Has there been a comedy sequel that is better than the original?

One of the few that comes to mind for me is American Pie 2. Getting the characters out of the high school setting and into college loosens everything up a bit. The actors having more experience (American Pie was the first major feature for many of the "high school student" leads save for Alyson Hannigan. and Thomas Ian Nicholas) also helps.
