We blend neuroscience with scriptural truths to empower believers in developing an effective InChrist mind for asking and receiving God's best in their lives.
Over the next weeks, we will dive into transformative principles inspired by scripture, equipping you to align your thoughts and actions with God's promises. Hereโ€™s a glimpse of what each week will bring:
1. Become Conscious of Thoughts, Speech, and Behavior ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ
- Our brains are wired to create habits. By developing metacognition, we can think about what we're thinking about, notice how we speak, and understand our behavior and habits. Reflect on Romans 12:2, "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."
2. Disconnect from External Stimuli๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ™
- Neuroscience shows that periods of stillness, like meditation, help our brains reset and recharge. This allows for self-reflection and inner awareness. Embrace Psalm 46:10, "Be still, and know that I am God."
3. Interrupt the Cycle of Repetitive Thoughts and Emotions ๐Ÿ”„๐Ÿ’ก
- Recognize that repetitive thoughts and emotions contribute to repeating the same life circumstances. Aim to break this cycle by introducing new thoughts and behaviors. Lean on 2 Corinthians 10:5, "We take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."
4. Transformation through Conscious Effort ๐Ÿ”„๐Ÿ’ช
- Engage the conscious mind to override subconscious programs, leading to personal transformation. Remember Philippians 4:13, "I can do all this through him who gives me strength."
5. Redefine Emotional Connections to the Past ๐Ÿ›ค๏ธโค๏ธ
- Identify and assess emotions tied to past experiences and decide whether they align with your desired future. Work to release or transform those that do not. Consider Isaiah 43:18-19, "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!"
6. Daily Practice of Personal Change ๐Ÿ“†โœ๏ธ
- Implement a routine that includes moments for self-reflection, goal setting, and exercises in self-discipline. Neuroscience supports that regular practice reinforces new neural pathways. Follow 1 Timothy 4:15, "Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress."
7. Define a Vision for the Future ๐ŸŒ…๐ŸŒŸ
- Establish a clear, compelling vision of the future to drive thoughts, emotions, and behaviors toward that new reality, moving beyond the familiar past and predictable future. Trust in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."
8. Create and Maintain Present Moment Awareness โณโœจ
- Aim to stay in the eternal present moment where new possibilities and potentials can emerge, rather than being controlled by past memories or future anxieties. Embrace Matthew 6:34, "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself."
9. Continuous Learning and Application ๐Ÿ“š๐ŸŒฑ
- Adopt new knowledge and apply it in daily life in a way that fosters new experiences and emotions, leading to ongoing evolution and personal growth. Seek wisdom in Proverbs 4:7, "The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding."
10. Journaling and Reflecting ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿชž
- Write down thoughts, behaviors, and emotions that donโ€™t serve your new goals, and consciously work on replacing them with more constructive ones. Reflect on Lamentations 3:40, "Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord."
We are fearfully and wonderfully made, and our brains are designed for transformation. By aligning our lives with these goals and scriptural truths, we can truly be transformed into the image of Christ and live out our God-given potential. ๐ŸŒบ๐Ÿ™rtmp://a.rtmp.youtube.com/live2
