My Story
My name is Lester Norton, founder of Spin King Laundry.
My journey into the laundromat business didn’t start with a perfect plan.
In 2016, I moved to Georgia and started a trucking business with two 18-wheelers. After dealing with constant breakdowns, unreliable drivers, and stress, I eventually sold the trucks and went back to work.
But I knew something had to change.
I was tired of trading time for money and dealing with businesses that required too much labor to survive.
I later started a cleaning franchise and was making around $6,000 per month, but after royalties and fees I was only keeping about $4,000.
That’s when I realized something important:
If I was going to build real wealth, I needed to own the system — not rent it from someone else.
One day while sitting inside a laundromat washing my work clothes, I started watching people come in and out all day long.
That moment changed everything.
I realized laundromats had something most businesses don’t:
• consistent demand• repeat customers• cash flow• simple operations• recession resistance
That discovery led me to build Spin King Laundry in Jonesboro, Georgia.
Today Spin King Laundry serves hundreds of customers every week and generates revenue through multiple streams including:
• self-service washers & dryers• wash-dry-fold service• pickup & delivery laundry• commercial laundry accounts
Over time I began learning every part of the laundromat business:
• location strategy• equipment selection• funding• build-out• marketing• operations• scaling
Eventually people started asking me the same question:
“How can I open a laundromat too?”
That question is what led to the creation of this program.
