Sacred Sundays
Hi Friends! Hope you're having a beautiful weekend so far.
I wanted to share with you a shift I've made that's changed my life in a subtle yet potent way:
Making Sunday (or at least 1 day of the week) a very intentional day.
I tend to be a bit of a 'achievement-aholic' or what you could call a "human-doing".
I LOVE being busy, working on my business, creating content, masterminding, running around, going to the gym, working on projects around the house, etc etc.
And while that is all great...
I often (pretty much always) avoided any kind of intentional rest, reset and reconnection time.
In fact, I used to not even consider a difference between the week and the weekend, and I'd almost always work Sundays as well.
Until recently.
This past year as I've connected much deeper with my faith and my own internal rhythms,
I've recognized the desire and need to weave in a day of deeper intention - and it's been so so wonderful!
Now I dedicate Sunday to super slow mornings, dancing to music in my kitchen as I make breakfast, going to Church, having brunch with loved ones and then taking the time to reset and transition into a new week.
I take the time to journal, to reflect, to prepare and to put myself into a rejuvenated state so that my brain, body and soul is fully recharged and amped up to be in the overflow.
This is the way that I know I can show up more fully, more potently and with even more purpose.
Because we aren't actually human doings... we are human beings, and we have batteries, brains and bodies that need to chill the heck out once in a while!
I'm not rigged with what this sacred day looks like, I let it flow (and sometimes I still do dive into projects or work if it's fully lighting me up and where my energy wants to flow). The only boundary I have is that I don't do things that feel heavy, hard or draining.
So this mornin as I sip my organic bone broth and get ready to go meet the famjam for worship, I feel so much gratitude for the simple shifts I've made in my week that bring me so much joy and energy.
I'm curious if you have a sacred sunday flow or what your relationship with intentionality in your days or weeks looks like for you.
If you've never thought about this, the invitation is to explore adding in activities that make you feel light, joyous and nourished, and removing things from your day that take away from those feelings.
xx
