How to start your musical 2026 with the right foot.
Hey everyone,
Happy New Year ๐ŸŽถ
The first days of the year tend to disappear faster than expected.
Between rest, reflection, family, and reorganizing priorities, itโ€™s easy to go a bit quiet โ€” and thatโ€™s okay. Silence is also part of music.
As we start this new year together, I want to encourage something simple but powerful: sharing your playing.
Not because itโ€™s perfect.
Not because itโ€™s finished.
But because sharing has real advantages:
โ€ขIt clarifies your thinking. When you play for others, you suddenly hear what really matters.
โ€ขIt builds consistency. Recording or sharing creates gentle accountability.
โ€ขIt shifts the focus from judgment to process.
โ€ขIt reminds you that music is a dialogue, not a private monologue.
You donโ€™t need to impress anyone here. This is a space for work-in-progress, experiments, questions, doubts, and growth.
So if the year started quietly for you โ€” good.
Now letโ€™s make it intentional.
Whenever youโ€™re ready, share something: a phrase, an รฉtude, a rehearsal clip, an idea youโ€™re working on.
This year isnโ€™t about showing more.
Itโ€™s about listening better โ€” to yourself and to each other.
Let's use the poll in this post to share with the community our "sharing" habits. How often do you share your playing?
Welcome back, and happy new year.
I never share my playing
I rarely share my playing
I share my playing sometimes
I share my playing very frequently
