A week ago I went to an archery field because one of my friends invited me and I thought “Why not?”.
I had never done archery in my entire life so I thought it’d be a cool new experience and oh boy it was something.
I arrived at the place and started shooting at one of the static targets for beginners right beside a girl and a guy who came with our group.
After a couple of minutes I had all the instructors looking at me shooting time and time again right into the bullseye.
The girl was joking all the time saying that I was lying shamelessly about this being my first time doing this.
The national champion was there practicing shooting at a quite impressive distance. My friend, Karsten asked the instructors to use a dynamic targets by throwing a small target into the air at a distance to see if someone could hit it.
The national champion tried and tried again but couldn’t hit the moving target in the air.
Karsten call me out to try and I decided to give it a shot. What’s the worst that could happen? I was insanely hyped up already by the faces of disbelief of people around me seeing how accurate I was with the static targets for beginners and somehow I had this irrational belief I was better than the national champion. So I went up there to do it.
Hit it the first time.
Karsten was losing his mind.
He cried out in disappointment for not having caught the moment in camera but I approached him with ease and said “Don’t worry about it, just record now and I’ll hit it again so you can get it in camera.” He looked at me like if I was crazy or insanely delusional… but you know what I always say.
“Delusion backed up just by words it’s just delusion, but delusion backed up by relentless action… that’s called FAITH, brother!!!”
So he started recording.
Several instructors were right next to me trying to hit the target alongside with me.
The only other remaining instructor threw the target into the air.
I hit it again.
And again.
And again… and again.
In the end one of the instructors had managed to hit the dynamic target once.
Karsten hit it twice.
The national champion 0 times.
I hit it 8 times in a row…
Why?
Because I knew for a fact I’d do it and I didn’t doubt my capacity, not even for one moment.
Be delusional, my friend.
Be delusional and then act like it…
Because while other people might call you delusional, while you might fail some of your attempts… in the end your confidence will prove itself and nothing else will matter.
While others will belief you arrogant, cocky or delusional… you’ll know, in the bottom of your heart, it’s none of those things… it’s simply unshakable and unstoppable FAITH.
