Triggers are information, not failure
One of the biggest misunderstandings about healing is the belief that being triggered means you’ve gone backward.
It doesn’t.
A trigger is not proof that something is “wrong” with you.
It is information rising to the surface asking to be witnessed.
When something activates you emotionally, your nervous system is not betraying you — it is communicating. Often, it is responding from an older imprint that learned how to stay safe long before you had conscious choice.
Healing is not about eliminating triggers.
It is about changing your relationship with them.
Instead of asking:
“Why am I still reacting like this?”
Try asking:
“What part of me is asking for attention right now?”
“What does my body need in this moment to feel safe?”
Triggers soften when they are met with curiosity instead of judgment.
They loosen when they are witnessed without rushing to fix them.
They resolve when the body learns it no longer has to sound the alarm.
This is not weakness.
This is intelligence.
This is your system recalibrating.
What has been showing up repeatedly for you lately — and what might it be trying to teach you, rather than stop you?
Take what resonates. Leave the rest.
You are exactly where you are meant to be.
