Hey guys, just wanna share something when I got stuck running resort operations.
I thought the answer was to just grind harder. More hours. More people. More effort.
But no matter how much I pushed, growth still felt stuck.
Then I learned in first principles that any business ever has only ONE real bottleneck at a time. And until I solve it, any other thing doesn't matter.
Think of it like a factory line: if one machine is too slow, the whole line slows down. Doesn’t matter how fast the others are — the weakest link sets the pace. Everything sucks because of it.
In a case I encountered, one staff member isn’t properly hospitality-trained to handle check-ins. The whole front desk slows down. Guests wait longer. Frustration builds. Even if the rooms are already in peak condition and marketing is stable, the guest’s first impression is still in chaos.
That’s the constraint.
So now my whole approach is simple...
- Firstly, every week, find the one bottleneck.
- Then, I put full focus into fixing it.
- Once it’s solved, move to the next.
Not by creating more work tasks but by just removing the choke point.
One constraint. One fix. Lezgo. 👊
