Awareness is the foundation of all somatic work.
Before we can change a pattern, regulate a nervous system response, or make a different choice, we first have to notice what’s happening.
Most of us spend years trying to fix things before we’ve learned how to observe them. Yep, me too!
Today, try this out:
Pause for one moment.
Take one slow breath.
Notice the sensation of the air entering and leaving your body.
No need to change anything.
Just notice.
Awareness is where healing and any sustainable change begins.
