Standing strong
We are all walking the narrow path (I Hope) that leads to heaven. But the simple truth is, it is very hard at times. We trip, stumble, and even fall. It is easy to get distracted and start getting off course. Satan is laying traps to distract us and lead us astray. But he can only set the trap, it is up to us to take the bait. WE HAVE THE POWER!
So why do we fail? There are several reasons really. And each one of us is different. But I think doubt is one of the big fail points. Satan gets us to doubt ourselves. We begin to believe that we are not good enough or strong enough. We start believing that we can’t do it. Then we quickly convince ourselves that we can’t.
So what do we do? We need to believe in ourselves and know that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Phil 4:13). This includes defeating Satan the same way Jesus did when Satan tempted him in the wilderness, by quoting scripture, by speaking truth.
This world and Satan want to tell you that you can’t do anything. But God wants you to know you can do anything. In Mark 11:23-25 we read;
“[23] Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. [24] Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. [25] And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”
And there it is, our biggest hurdle in life. Forgiveness, or the inability to forgive. We hold on to grudges and it ways us down and distracts us. It keeps us from focusing on God because we focus on the issue, on holding onto a grudge. But it is time to let go of the grudge, forgive others and yourself.
