Repairing a household fan
My fan wasn’t working. Most people would’ve binned it but I wanted to give it one last shot.
Took it apart and:
  • Fixed the switch mechanism (weirdly cool but complicated mechanism, couldn’t find any reassembly instructions online)
  • Oiled the bearings (so everything spins freely again)
  • Cleaned a decade’s worth of dust
  • Put it all back together
Now it runs smooth & quiet 🥹
Sure, it was a £20 fan. But it’s no longer going to landfill. It’s now rescued, refreshed, and ready for another few summers 💪
Have you ever done a similar repair?
