Hello
Hey everyone, I’m Sober Steve,
I’ve been to treatment 16 times. And for years, my cycle looked the same:
Get out → stay sober for 30, 60, 90 days (sometimes almost a year) → drink again → hate myself → use alcohol to numb the shame.
In therapy, I learned something that changed everything: shame is not something we’re born with—it’s something put into us. It’s not something we deserve to carry. Once I understood that, I released myself from it.
I don’t count days anymore. Instead, I focus on living each one with the same kindness, compassion, tolerance, and grace I’d give to anyone else with a story like mine.
Now, I’m working on building a network of newly sober people—a place where we can prop each other up during those fragile early days and a space where people in recovery can connect, collaborate, and help each other thrive.
I’d love for you to take a look at what I’m building and see how you might be part of it.
We can do more together than any of us can alone. 💪
