Dear Sisters,
If you are navigating the unimaginable pain of losing a loved one to violence, know that you are not alone. Your heartache is profound, and it’s okay to grieve deeply. In this season of sorrow, I want to remind you of the strength that can be found in faith and community.
In the book of Psalms, we are comforted by the promise that “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18). This scripture reassures us that we are seen and supported by a loving God during our darkest times. He walks with us in our pain, sharing in our sorrow and despair.
Remember that even in grief, we are called to hold onto hope. As it says in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles.” Lean into that comfort. Allow yourself to feel your emotions fully while also reaching out to those who love you — they want to help you carry your burden.
As you navigate this painful journey, be gentle with yourself. Grief is not linear, and healing takes time. Surround yourself with supportive friends, family, or support groups who can provide the love and understanding you need.
And when the weight feels too heavy, turn to prayer. Speak your heart openly to God. He hears your cries and can provide a peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
You are stronger than you know, and though the road ahead may be daunting, take it one day at a time. Hold onto hope, lean on your faith, and remember that brighter days are ahead.
With love and prayers for your healing,
