After the holidays we all need a good refresh of knowledge so here is my take away from a video i watched this morning with a buddy of mine 👥. The 11 sales training basics we all must master. This post will be split into two cause it would be quite a bit to read fr.
Tip 1: More than likely what you’ve been told is wrong.
- Match skill with hard work = Hard work can only get you so far. If you don’t build upon your skill you will fall.
Tip 2: Become the complete opposite of what you believe a salesperson is.
- What would people think of sales people? Most likely sleazy, liars, robbers etc.
- What would they think after meeting you?
Tip 3: LEARN. Have mentors that have gone where you want to go, that have the things you want.
- Use your training in action.
- What is practice in private shines in public 🌟.
Tip 4: Do your homework 📄
- Learn & study your business/industry.
- 90% is people learning & 10% is service learning.
Tip 5: Have a training system ♾️
- Time management 🕰️ .
- Dedicate training during the day.
- 1 Hour of training a week is 52 hours a year & 1 hour a day is 365 hours a year. Your choice.
Tip 6: Ask good questions and get good information.
- This will allow the sale to branch off into countless directions which will allow you to adapt to change.
- The customer doesn’t want to hear you when they haven’t been heard themselves.
