Gratitude, an action word?
Imagine life as a game with a set of rules we don't get to write. Some rules are awesome, some are tough, but they all apply equally to everyone.
Now, you can spend your time complaining about the rules, wishing they were different. Or, you can focus on playing the best game possible within those rules.
Gratitude, in this sense, is about actively noticing and appreciating the "good cards" you've been dealt. It's not about ignoring the challenges, but choosing to focus on what you do have, rather than what you lack.
By actively practicing gratitude, you're essentially training your mind to focus on the positive. This doesn't magically change the rules of the game, but it changes how you experience it. It's a way to find contentment and purpose, even amidst life's most brutal challenges.
