Some mornings, prayer feels like one more thing for a man already carrying too much. We can stay busy enough to avoid admitting how thirsty our souls are.
Psalm 63:1
“O God, you are my God; early will I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh longs for you, in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water.”
God, I come to You as I am, not as I wish I were. Wake up my desire for You before the noise and demands take over. Teach me to bring You my fear, my temptation, and my decisions instead of carrying them alone. Make my obedience flow from knowing You, not from trying to prove myself.
Before you reach for your phone today, spend five honest minutes telling God what your soul is really thirsty for.
