Question
🏡 WHEN “I’M FINE” DOESN’T TELL THE WHOLE STORY
Many older adults want to remain independent—and needing a little support doesn’t automatically mean giving that up.
Families can start by noticing the small things: unopened mail, missed appointments, less food in the refrigerator, increasing isolation, or everyday tasks becoming harder.
Today’s takeaway: During your next visit or phone call, don’t just ask, “Are you okay?” Ask one specific question such as, “What has been harder for you lately?” 💙
That conversation may tell you much more.
💬 Families and caregivers: What was the first small change that made you realize someone you loved might need more support?
