Your Thoughts are NOT Facts
“I’m too old to start over.”
That is not a fact. It’s a sentence your brain wrote years ago and never edited.
Here’s how it runs, and it runs on a loop:
Thought: “I’m too old to start over.”
Feeling: Heavy. Tight. Quietly ashamed.
Action: You don’t apply. You don’t post. You don’t ask.
Result: Nothing happens.
Then your brain does its favorite trick. It points at the result and says, “See? Told you.” The loop closes and the belief hardens. You now have evidence, except the evidence is just the shadow of your own inaction.
Tony Robbins teaches this as TFAR: thoughts, feelings, action, results. The part most people miss is the first link. A thought has no power until you treat it as true. Label it neutral. It’s a hypothesis, not a verdict.
This is also how bad decisions get made. Most of us don’t decide from facts. We decide from the feeling a thought produced, then back-fill a logical reason. The feeling votes. The spreadsheet gets the blame.
Before your next real decision, ask two questions:
  1. Is this a fact, or a story?
  2. What would I do if this thought were just noise?
You can’t always control the thought. You can control the test.
This week: Pick one limiting belief. Rewrite it as a hypothesis. Run one small action that could prove it wrong. Report back.
Results are data. Start collecting better data.
