Black pepper BOMB… at least that’s what I initially thought when I smelled Asad by Lattafa. It was sharp, peppery, and spicy.
However, upon closer inspection, I discovered that the bottle was only a week old from production. There was no maceration time, which explains the intense, yet fleeting, scent. 🙃
After letting it sit and “rest” for a few weeks, the fragrance transformed. The harsh peppery blast softened, revealing a smoother blend of warm vanilla, amber, and smoky woodiness. That’s when I realized—sometimes patience is part of the fragrance experience.
So if your first impression of a scent feels overwhelming or unbalanced, don’t rush to judgment. Give it time to mature in the bottle… you might be surprised by the magic it unlocks.
