You Can’t Fill Something That’s Already Full
For the last few days, I’ve been trying to find words for something that doesn’t really have words. It’s more of an energy than a thought. More of a feeling than an experience I can easily explain.
It’s funny because I make my living helping women put language to what they’re experiencing, yet here I am struggling to explain what’s been happening inside me.
The closest I can come is this…I’m just different.
It feels like something that had been quietly taking up space inside me just isn’t there anymore. Not in a dramatic lightning bolt kind of way. It feels much more subtle than that.
Lighter.
More spacious.
Almost like there had always been a low hum running in the background of my life. I couldn’t hear it because it had been there for so long. I didn’t even know it existed. But once it stopped, I realized how much energy it had been consuming.
I feel untethered.
Free.
My circumstances didn’t change, but something inside me did.
In my last article I described the depth of it and it’s proven to be something much bigger than I understood while I was in it.
It felt like emotional surgery and it wasn’t just one day. For days afterward, I was still experiencing the aftershocks of the volcano that blew. I couldn’t stop crying. My nervous system was recalibrating. Even now, I’m still noticing little updates happening in my body.
But underneath all of that…
There’s space. And permission I’ve never really given myself before. Permission to live for myself. Permission to be myself on a different level.
I can’t stop thinking about how much of my life was shaped, not by what I consciously knew, but by what was living underneath the surface of my awareness.
Maybe you’ve felt that too.
Maybe you’ve had seasons where you couldn’t explain why everything felt so hard. Why moving forward took so much effort. Why you knew what you wanted, but something invisible always seemed to pull you back.
Sometimes before we can hold what’s next, life has a way of creating the space for it first.
We spend years trying to become more when what our soul has been asking for all along is ROOM.
This Friday, August 8, marks the peak of the Lion’s Gate Portal. Whether you see it through an astrological lens, a spiritual one, or simply as a meaningful seasonal marker, I love what it represents.
Every year, this window is associated with new beginnings, courage, and stepping more fully into the life we’re here to live and the impact we’re here to create.
It’s a time that asks us to release what no longer fits so there’s room for what does.
This year carries an added layer of symbolism.
The date itself forms an additional 8 this year so instead of it just being 8/8 it’s an 888 which symbolizes financial abundance, karmic reward, and the completion of a major life cycle.
2026 is also a universal “one” year symbolizing fresh starts, personal sovereignty, and consciously choosing the direction you want your life to take. Add Jupiter’s recent move into Leo. Jupiter is the plant of expansion and Leo is fire energy, amplifying confidence, creativity, visibility, leadership, and authentic self-expression, and it’s easy to see why so many people are feeling that something bigger is stirring.
To me, the amplification isn’t about becoming louder.
It’s about becoming more of who you’ve always been.
REFLECTION QUESTIONS:
Where have I been playing smaller than I really am?
What am I ready to clear away so there’s more room for my light?
