One Question the Mystery Schools All Asked
Every genuine initiatory tradition, from the Egyptian mystery schools to the Hermetic lodges to the early Rosicrucian orders, began with a version of the same question.
Who are you beneath everything you have been told you are?
The Kybalion calls this the Principle of Mentalism. The All is Mind. The universe is mental. What you take yourself to be at the deepest level determines what you are capable of experiencing and creating in the world.
The ancient Egyptians understood that the subconscious mind was the foundation. The part of you that is already connected to everything. The part that dreams, that creates, that knows before the analytical mind catches up.
The question they were training initiates to answer was practical. Who is actually operating your life? The conditioned personality? Or something older and deeper than that?
This week, I want to ask you the same thing the mystery schools asked.
What is the one belief about yourself that, if you let it go, would change everything?
Drop it in the comments. This community is a space where that kind of honesty is safe.
Which part of you is actually running your life right now?
The conscious, thinking mind
Subconscious programming from childhood
Something older and deeper than either
I genuinely do not know yet
