Before we sever the digital cord, let's make sure you have your engine ready to roll. We are using Ollama because it is completely free, private, and runs entirely on your own computer. [1]
Here is exactly how to download your setup and complete your first challenge:
🛠️ Step 1: Download Your Offline AI Engine
- Go Online: While you are still connected to the internet, go to ollama.com. [1]
- Download: Click download and select the installer for your specific operating system (Mac or Windows). [1]
- Install: Open the downloaded file and run the installer. It will set everything up and start running quietly as a background service on your machine. [1]
🧠 Step 2: Load Your AI Brain
- Open up your computer's Terminal (if you are on a Mac) or Command Prompt (if you are on Windows).
- Type the following command exactly as it looks and press Enter:ollama run llama3
- Let the download finish completely. Once it's done, you have a fully operational AI brain sitting directly on your hard drive. [1]

Now that your setup is ready, let's prove its power!
- Disconnect: Turn off your computer's Wi-Fi or physically pull out your internet cable.
