Spotting is something I learned when I was dancing & it's something I honestly think should be implemented into lifting as well.
I see people looking all over the place or allowing their eyes to wander as they go through movements & it not only takes focus away from the lift but can also affect balance & key control during the movement. Do you need to watch yourself in the mirror? Not necessarily but pick a spot out in front of you.
Could be a spec on the floor. Could be a spot on the wall. Could be something in the far distance. Pick one & see what happens to your lifts👀
l've found that when I cue this, people tend to find much more stability & the effort behind the movement also locks in🙂↕️
