A Prayer for Awakening

Father, we come before You not asking for comfort, but for fire. 🔥

Awaken us, Lord. Stir the hearts of Your people across this nation — in the pews, the cities and the small towns, in the schools, in the workplaces, and in the streets. We confess that we have too often been content to hear Your Word and go home unchanged. We have been admirers of Jesus when You called us to be followers.

Make us doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving ourselves. Let the truth we sing on Sunday become the way we walk on Monday. Let it show up in our homes, our workplaces, our neighborhoods.

Break our hearts for what breaks Yours. Give us boldness where we have been silent!

Send us! Not someday, not when we feel ready, but now. Send us out into the world seeking and saving the lost, because that is what the Jesus came to do. He said, "As the Father has sent me, so I send you."

Do it again in our generation, God. Not for our platforms or our reputations, but for the glory of Jesus Christ and the salvation of souls.
