Have we all been accountable today....
Was meant to be 3hrs low Z2 with sprints, but due to poor route choice messed up, so I did the 3hrs with sprints( all seated). I am not skilled enough at standing sprinting yet to do them on a main road, I never feel that I am in full control of the bike, something I need to work on, but no drama. Anyway, I just rode my bike without going daft and focussed on higher cadence which was 89 for the 3 hours....pleased with that.

Tech Friday
I know that this is meant to be a Thursday post but I wanted to say it before race season begins. “Aero water bottles” - if you aren’t doing long distance events then just go and get them. Will likely save you a few watts for zero effort. I am talking about the Trek style ones as opposed to those older TT ones. The cages still work with your normal rounded bottles which is pretty handy. I believe that they are as secure as your traditional bottles too? I haven’t heard any bad reviews personally AliExpress or panda podium would be cheaper alternatives. Photo below! If you are doing 8 hour long gravel races then it’s probably not the most practical thing so it’s more relevant to people doing shorter races. But I think it’s worth trying out 🫡

Welcome to NOT DONE YET (Start Here)
Great to have you here. This community is built for riders who believe their best chapter on the bike is still ahead. Whether you want to get fitter, faster, leaner, stronger or simply fall back in love with cycling, you’re in the right place. Before we get rolling, let’s get to know each other. Drop a quick intro under the "introduce yourself tab" in "communities" • Who are you • Where you’re riding from • Your cycling goals • And most importantly… a pic of your bike This is a community of support, accountability and shared passion. The more we show up, the more powerful this space becomes. Looking forward to meeting you all and helping you write the next chapter in your cycling story. Let’s get after it. You’re not done yet.

Sharing a resource
I could not write skinfolds in the title :) One of my goals over the next six months is to lose a little weight in a healthy, sustainable way. I have a Garmin scale that tracks weight and estimates metrics like body fat percentage, and while I know the absolute numbers can be off (often by a few percentage points), I still find it useful for tracking trends over time. I noticed Hexis has a data page for skinfold measurements, which made me wonder whether you can reasonably do this yourself. It turns out you can. Apparently, it is quite doable with calipers once you learn the basics. Anyway, I came across a helpful article about skinfold calipers with some recommendations, and thought I would share it in case anyone else is curious.

Howdy Folks. I put together a little spreadsheet of rides, races, and events I thought might interest you. I am planning on attending all these. If you add your events to the calendar (try to keep it in date order), perhaps we can get a group together and ride! I'll try to drop links in there as they come up too. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ElczqMK9E-WjqatuQj41Qh9TQKvpUjO9qgWMAcCYwlM/edit?usp=drivesdk
