Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act. Proverbs 3:27
This verse teaches us to avoid power struggles, manipulation, or withholding what we are fully capable of giving. Instead, it calls you and me to act without delay when someone is in need and we have the ability to change their situation. It warns against postponing help, reminding us that if God has placed the resources, opportunity, and capacity in our hands, then doing good should be immediate, not delayed. To withhold assistance when we are able to give it is not wisdom, it becomes pride, disobedience, and a posture God opposes.
