PERFECTION: A REVELATION IN LANGUAGE (תמים)
Most of my life I heard people talk in religious circles and congregations claim that we cannot overcome 'sin'... 'Nobody is Perfect', I hear this a lot...
Then I actually read the Bible after a 'Burning Bush' revelation in my life...
I was called to The 'Thurah'.
I began at the beginning and my life really shifted after one verse in particular:
Barashyth/Genesis 26:5 🔥 עקב אשׁר־שׁמע אברהם בקלי וישׁמר משׁמרתי מצותי חקותי ותורתי 🔥
🔥 'Aqav ashar-shama' Avaraham baqali u'eshamar mashamarathi matsuthi chaquthi uthurathi'🔥
Because (H6118) that (H834) Abraham (H85) obeyed (H8085) My Voice (H6963) and kept (H8104) My Customs (H4931), My Commandments (H4687), My Statutes (H2708), and My Instructions (H8451).
עקב (H6118) ʻêqeb, ay'-keb; from H6117 in the sense of H6119; a heel, i.e. (figuratively) the last of anything (used adverbially, for ever); also result, i.e. compensation; and so (adverb with preposition or relatively) on account of:—× BECAUSE, by, end, for, if, reward.
אשׁר (H834) ʼăshar, ash-ar'; a primitive relative pronoun (of every gender and number); who, which, what, THAT; also (as an adverb and a conjunction) when, where, how, because, in order that, etc.:—× after, × alike, as (soon as), because, × every, for, + forasmuch, + from whence, + how(-soever), × if, (so) that ((thing) which, wherein), × though, + until, + whatsoever, when, where (+ -as, -in, -of, -on, -soever, -with), which, whilst, + whither(-soever), who(-m, -soever, -se). As it is indeclinable, it is often accompanied by the personal pronoun expletively, used to show the connection.
שׁמע (H8085) shâmaʻ, shaw-mah'; a primitive root; HEAR/HEARD intelligently (often with implication of attention, obedience, etc.; causatively, to tell, etc.):—× attentively, call (gather) together, × carefully, × certainly, consent, consider, be content, declare, × diligently, discern, give ear, (cause to, let, make to) hear(-ken, tell), × indeed, listen, make (a) noise, (be) obedient, obey, perceive, (make a) proclaim(-ation), publish, regard, report, shew (forth), (make a) sound, × surely, tell, understand, whosoever (heareth), witness.
אברהם (H85) ʼAvarâhâm, ava-ra-hawm'; contracted from H1 and an unused root (probably meaning to be populous); father of a multitude; Abraham, the later name of Abram:—AVARAHAM.
בקלי (H6963) qôwli, kooley; or קֹל qôl; from an unused root meaning to call aloud; a VOICE or sound:—+ aloud, bleating, crackling, cry (+ out), fame, lightness, lowing, noise, + hold peace, (pro-) claim, proclamation, + sing, sound, + spark, thunder(-ing), voice, + yell.
וישׁמר (H8104) shâmar, shaw-mar'; a primitive root; properly, to hedge about (as with thorns), i.e. guard; generally, to protect, to guard, attend to, etc.:—beward, be circumspect, take heed (to self), KEPT/KEEP(-er, self), mark, look narrowly, observe, preserve, regard, reserve, save (self), sure, (that lay) wait (for), watch(-man).
משׁמרתי (H4931) mashamarathi, mish-mer'-reth; feminine of H4929; watch, i.e. the act (custody), or (concretely) the sentry, the post; objectively preservation, or (concretely) safe; figuratively observance, i.e. (abstractly) duty or (objectively) a usage or party:—CHARGES, keep, or to be kept, office, ordinance, safeguard, ward, watch.
מצותי (H4687) matsuthi, mits-vaw'; from H6680; a COMMAND, whether human or divine (collectively, the Law):—(which was) commanded(-ment), law, ordinance, precept.
חקותי (H2708) chaquthi', chuqqâh; feminine of H2706, and meaning substantially the same:—appointed, custom, manner, ordinance, site, STATUTE.
תורתי (H8451) thurah, thoo-raw'; or תֹּרָה thôrâh; from H3384; a precept or statute, especially the Decalogue or Pentateuch:—INSTRUCTIONS, law.
I've included the 'STRONGS' references numbers above help connect the Hebrew-English.
This verse makes a profound statement about Avaraham; that Avaraham did two things: LISTENED and OBEYED.. Avaraham honored 'FIVE' specific things that YHUH-Alahaym called of Himself as 'MY' in the possessive form, let's break it down into smaller pieces and eat/consume 'THE BREAD OF LIFE' together:
Baqali (בקלי) H6963 - My Voice
Mashamarathi (משׁמרתי) H4931 - My Customs
Matsuthi (מצותי) H4687 - My Commands
Chaquthi (חקותי) H2708 - My Statutes
Thurathi (תורתי) H8451 - My Instructions/Law
When I read this the first time I would read the entire 'TH-U-R-H' Thurah or Torah it stuck me almost like lightening, 'If Avaraham can do it, why cannot I do it?'.
Did you know our FATHER YHUH-TSAVOTH is effectively calling Avaraham 'perfect' and or 'complete' here which in Hebrew is 'TH-M-Y-M' (תמים) 'Thamym' and this word is the key to a mystery...
The Gematria or numerical value of the Hebrew word 'Thamym' is 490, TH (400) M (40) Y (10) M (40).
Where else in The Bible do we hear about this number '490'? Matthew 18:21-23: "Then came Peter to him, and said, Aduni, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? 'till seven times? Yahushuah saith unto him, I say not unto thee, until seven times: but, until seventy times seven. Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants."
70 x 7 = 490.. Messiah attaches this number to 'FORGIVENESS' which he is given us a subtle connection or elusion to 490-Thamym: Perfection, Wholeness, Completeness...
This is our HEAVENLY FATHERS kind of 'perfection': Hearing and Honoring Him, and Forgiveness...
What leads us to this point of hearing and honoring?
I would offer THREE principle things: Wisdom, and a Broken (open) and Humble Heart!
This word 'Thamym' first appears in Barashyth/Genesis 6:9 (6+9=15, YaH=15):
Barashyth 6:9 "These are the generations of Nach: Nach was a just man and 'perfect' in his generations, and Nach walked with Alahaym."
Let's find a few more:
Barashyth 17:1 - And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, YHUH appeared to Avaram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty Alahaym; walk before me, and be thou 'perfect'.
Barashyth 22:21 - And whosoever offers a sacrifice of peace offerings unto YHUH to accomplish his vow, or a freewill offering in beeves or sheep, it shall be 'perfect' to be accepted; there shall be no blemish therein.
Davarym/Deuteronomy 18:13 - Thou shalt be 'perfect' with YHUH thy Alahaym.
Davarym 25:15 - But thou shalt have a 'perfect' and just weight, a perfect and just measure shalt thou have: that thy days may be lengthened in the land which YHUH thy Alahaym giveth thee.
Davarym 32:4 He is the Refuge, his work is 'perfect': for all his ways are judgment: an Alahaymn of truth and without iniquity, just and right is He.
2 Shamu'al/Samuel 22:31 As for Alahaym, his way is 'perfect'; The Word of YHUH is tried: he is a shield to all them that trust in him.
2 Shamu'al/Samuel 22:33 Alahaym is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.
1Malakym/Kings 8:61 Let your heart therefore be 'perfect' with the LORD our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.
Ayuv/Job 1:1 There was a man in the land of 'Auts, whose name was Ayuv; and that man was 'perfect' and upright, and one that feared Alahaym, and eschewed evil.
Psalms19:7 The Thurah/Law of YHUH is 'perfect', converting the soul: the testimony of YHUH is sure, making wise the simple.
Thamym: Perfect, Whole, Complete appears in 105 verses found, 110 matches...
So what do you guys think about this word Thamym... and what it means to be whole, complete, or spiritually perfect?
Blessings,
