The Power of Being Teachable
I once believed strength meant resisting every idea that challenged me. I argued with guidance, clung to old habits, and mistook stubbornness for independence. The greatest obstacle to my growth was not the world around me—it was my unwillingness to be taught.
The Stoics remind us that wisdom begins with humility. Progress comes when we stop defending our old identity and become willing to practice a better way of living. Every lesson accepted is another step away from ego and another step toward freedom.
Real resilience is not found in always being right. It is found in remaining teachable. Each day offers an opportunity to let go of pride, embrace discipline, and become a little more aligned with the person I am capable of becoming.
Reflection: Where is my pride preventing me from learning, and what lesson would become available if I approached today with humility instead?
