Sora 2…OpenAI’s updated video generator! 😳

OpenAI dropped Sora 2 September 30th. The US and CA rollouts began yesterday for subscribers. Access is in high demand and the rollout seems to be happening slowly. 🫠 (I hawked the OpenAI Discord this morning for an invite code because I HAD to test it out!! #techgeek🤣)

Quick first thoughts:

Massive improvement over version 1. (There was major issue with the model getting the basic physics of motion correct.)
VEO 3 may have serious competition: with a single sentence, Sora 2 outputs 10 sec videos with sound and music and allows editing of said videos!
The cameo feature is fun! You can appear in others’ videos and they can appear in yours…if you set up and allow your persona to do so. (See Sam Altman in one of my demos! 😉)
The quality is quite good…and there is portrait and landscape options.
Early tests see some limitations. However, it is VERY early and this could be due to my prompting vs. Sora 2 itself.
There is buzz this may be competition for TikTok. You are able to follow each other, dm, comment, and like videos…so we shall see…
