Winter Freeze
Yes it's cold and freezing pipes is a concern (and great thing to educate to your database about). But I'm talking about the freeze in agents' businesses.
So many of us start out gung ho at the onset of the new year. We have fresh with energy and a shiny new business plan in hand. Oftentimes the happy pink cloud dissipates 6ish weeks into the new year.
Are you there?
(Read on for simple hack to overcome this)
I am personally struggling with this. The problem has been exacerbated by 2+ weeks at home taking care of my son and wife as they were sick.
This job has been a blessing and a curse in these past couple weeks.....
On the one hand, I regret nothing and I love the flexibility this job gives me. On the other hand, I am human, and it's been hard to refocus and regain momentum again.
One hack that's helped me bust through this is leaning into accountability with my team. For me it comes in 2 forms:
  • First is asking questions about their progress to their goals. I push those who are off track, and I encourage those who are on track. I also get reinvigorated but the latter group.
  • The second is getting THEM to hold ME accountable to MY goals.
To some it sounds backwards for the leader to get his people to support him. Over the year 15 years I've led executives and entrepreneurs I've found it's both helped me with my performance and it's humanized me. that's important for the coaching relationship.
This post ended up far too long and I fear it'll get lost because I need YOUR TIPS....
  • What's working to keep you on track?
  • If you're off track, what can you recommit to TODAY to get that SPARK back???
