You’ve earned your seat at the table. You’ve put in the work. And yet, that voice creeps in:
"I don’t really belong here.""I was just lucky.""Someone else is more qualified."
Sound familiar? You’re not alone. Impostor syndrome affects even the most accomplished women—especially in male-dominated industries, leadership roles, or career transitions. But here’s the truth: If you’re doubting yourself, it’s because you care. And if you care, you’re already ahead of the game.
How to Spot It:
🔹 You downplay your success or deflect praise.
🔹 You feel like you need just one more certification, project, or win before you’re “ready.”
🔹 You hesitate to speak up or take on new challenges out of fear of being exposed.
🔹 You set impossibly high expectations for yourself and feel like you’re always falling short.
You can push through it. But you have to work it.
What Works (From Women Who’ve Been There):
💡 Keep a "Win Journal" – Write down every success, big or small. When doubt creeps in, read it.
💡 Dissect the thoughts around it - what's a fact and what's an opinion in your self talk around this?
💡 Reframe the Fear – Instead of “I don’t know enough,” try “I’m always learning, and I can do this.”
💡 Say Yes Before You Feel Ready – Growth happens outside your comfort zone. If you wait until you feel 100% ready, you’ll wait forever.
💡 Lean on Your Network – Surround yourself with women who lift you up, remind you of your value, and help you see yourself clearly.
Impostor syndrome doesn’t go away overnight, but it loses power when we call it out, share our experiences, and take action anyway.
