There’s a difference between saying “I’m sorry” and truly turning away from sin.
The Bible says:
📖 “Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.” – 2 Corinthians 7:10
✘ Worldly sorrow is “I’m sorry because I got caught.”✔ Godly sorrow says, “I hate this sin because it hurts God—and I want to change.”
🛠️ Action Steps (Write These Out in Your Journal or Comment Below):
- List out the sins the Holy Spirit is highlighting to you right now. Be honest.
- Confess them to the Lord — speak them out loud or write them down. Don’t hide.
- Repent — turn from them and ask the Holy Spirit to help you never return to them.
- Declare:👉 “I hate [insert sin], [insert sin], and [insert sin]—because God hates what harms me. I choose to love what He loves.”
🙏 Then pray:
“Holy Spirit, give me a broken and contrite heart.
Convict me where I need to change.
Minister Your forgiveness to me.
And help me walk in freedom, not shame.”
