Accessible Recreation in NYS
At our core we are all human beings. We all long to connect with the natural world around us but unfortunately some people don't have access to these powerful spaces due to disability, age, physical restrictions, mobility and more. Thankfully, the NYSDEC as well as SUNY Cortland's Recreation Department have come up with great resources for those in need of specialized devices, services and areas that allow them to access the natural spaces they need. in collaboration with the NYSDEC and Parks many local parks and natural space area have committed to accessible recreation.
To get information regarding accessible spaces please go to the classroom tab and look for the course on Accessible Recreation. There you will find some great resources to review and consider for your next outing. 🌲🏕️🧗‍♂️
Don't forget to complete the ACTION STEP to level up!!!
**Respond below about your experience, positive or negative with regards to areas you have been to where you were or weren't able to access areas of interest. This could be local or state parks, museums, national parks, etc.
