Dolce Agonia by Nancy Huston
I absolutely loved this one! It’s set during a single Thanksgiving dinner hosted by a poet named Sean. While the guests are eating, drinking, and having these really vibrant, funny conversations, there’s a "God-like" narrator who occasionally chimes in to tell us how each person’s life eventually ends. It sounds heavy, but it’s actually a beautiful, bittersweet reminder to cherish the people sitting across from us and the moments we’re living right now.
