I might be hallucinating (IRO mock exam question)

So I was doing one of the mock opens exams for IRO (#16; doing things out of order), and question 3 really stumped me, even after seeing the answer, because it said "according to the paper" but I couldn't find a lick of information on removing tissues or blood clots, or anything really about procedures pre-testing. I re-read the paper like 4 times over, and even did the whole Ctrl-F thing to find key words, but maybe I'm not looking for the right phrases? Can someone check this for me? (T_T)
