Interested in being a tutor or getting tutored for FREE yourself?
We are Rochester Peer Tutoring; an organization created during Covid whose goal is to increase access to educational resources through a system of peer tutors.
If you want to see our impact here is the website:
Benefits:
Flexible ✅ - you get to CHOOSE when and where you want to tutor. Most of our tutoring is remote and over zoom. In our community, we also offer tutoring at 2 local libraries. In person tutoring is another option if you bring this to your community.
Community Service ✅ - log your hours and we will sign off on them at the end of each school year!!
Make valuable impact ✅ - by helping your peers you are helping us in our mission of making educational resources more accessible!
Applications can also be found through the website for being a tutee or tutor.
We still have 1 type of leadership opportunity still open - RPT Representative.
Basically, you would need to bring RPT to your school and advertise it to your peers so they can know about it!
We also host summer events. This summer in our community we held a Science Fair for elementary students, and a Cards and Cookies Awareness event so kids can learn more about Sickle Cell Disease. We are still not done and are hosting a few more!
If the website link is not working for some reason, then look up "Rochester Peer Tutoring" and scroll down until you find the WIX website!!! This is our most recent and updated webpage with our full list of impact. We still need to briefly update it with the leadership board for the upcoming school year.
Our board for the upcoming school year is working on making RPT more organized and known. We have an Instagram Page and are looking to host more events. We're also working on a more structured lesson plan and smoother communication. We would gladly welcome your ideas and hope you will take advantage of this opportunity. Still not convinced? Take a quick look at the website!
