Interrupt the Process of Forgetting!
πŸ“– Many of us memorize a page of the Quran but forget it a few days later
⏳ And this process continues on for years and years until it feels like you have forgotton all of those pages you memorized
🧠 The reason why this happens is because you are simply not interrupting the forgetting process in your brain that starts very soon after you memorize something
⚠️ As soon as you finish memorizing that page, give it a day and if you do not revise it, you will see how easily it is to forget it
βœ… What you want to do is review that page you memorized after around 3-5 hours
πŸ“Œ You can do this by:
β€’ Reading it a few times
β€’ Testing yourself in salah
β€’ Reading to a friend
🚫 But the point is, you cannot delay this small review more than a day after
πŸŒ™ Even reviewing it the day after is not so bad, because your brain throughout the day and throughout your sleep has been processing this new set of information you memorized
πŸ”— When you review it again, you're strengthening those connections and making the page much more stable in your memory
πŸš€ So after you memorize a page of the Quran, either review it again the same day, or review it the day after immediately
πŸ“ˆ That way you can interrupt the forgetting curve and be a step closer to making your hifdh strong
πŸ’¬ What are your thoughts? Have you noticed a difference when you review within the first 24 hours?
