Today's week of marathon training was super hard 🏃🏼♀️
After a high of running 12 miles and feeling pretty good last week, this week was a "drop back" week where the mileage is reduced slightly (the long run was 10 miles today).
But I have been so tired, so HANGRY, and the icy rain has been blowing sideways right into my eyes... I'm sick of it and praying I get some sunny runs soon! ☀️
Add PMS into the mix and it's no wonder I thought about quitting this week. Last time I ran a marathon was 10 years ago, I was younger, lighter and had way less on my plate. And it's easy to look back and that with rose-tinted glasses, but I remember there being periods that truly sucked then too.
Marathon training is as much mental as it is physical! Every run is different, and hopefully I'll be feeling it more again next week.
🔴 FUNDRAISING UPDATE 🔴
I am nearly at £1000. I need to reach a minimum of £1250 in the next few weeks for my charity place, so I would appreciate any donations you can give! Even a small amount makes a HUGE difference to women and girls living in poverty: £10/ $13 provides essentials for women fleeing domestic violence
£17/ $23 provides educational resources for a girl for a year
£30/ $40 can provide 2-month hygiene kits in Gaza
(and if you let me know you did, I'll send you my 2025 debrief and 2026 goals BTS podast as a thank you - but only until Sunday! £3 is enough for a )
These donations really will keep me going too when the training is tough!
Thank you!
PS. Here's a picture of me absolutely soaked, running in the wind and rain today looking silly with my hat. And I'm annoyed because you can't even see the rain in the photo 😆
