Gen 4v7 “If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is contrary to you, but you must rule over it.””
This verse is the first clear lesson on sin, and it’s striking how personal it is. God speaks to Cain before the act—before the blood, before the irreversible moment.
Sin is described not as a mistake, but as a living threat: crouching, waiting, alert. Like a predator just outside the heart’s doorway.
Not inside yet. Still at the threshold.
