Punk Crafts: DIY as Rebellion
Punk isn’t just loud music — it’s glue, thread, and safety pins. From the start, punks used arts and crafts as a way to fight back against consumer culture. Why buy when you can make it raw, messy, and yours?
• Jackets as Canvases – Painted slogans, hammered-in studs, and one-of-a-kind designs turned clothing into protest art.
• Zines – Hand-cut, pasted, and photocopied booklets became underground newspapers for punks to share ideas and art.
• Patchwork Fashion – Scraps of fabric, tartan, and band logos stitched or pinned onto clothes made every outfit a rebellion.
• Safety Pin Jewelry – Cheap, sharp, and iconic — a whole look created from a hardware store box.
• Flyers & Posters – DIY collages with cut-out letters and chaotic layouts spread the word about shows and scenes.
Punk crafts weren’t about perfection — they were about expression, community, and resistance. Every stitch, staple, and smear of paint shouted: we don’t need permission to create.

We’re the unapologetic corner of the craft world. Think less Pinterest-perfect, more I made this while yelling about everything wrong with the world.
